3rd Quarter Project
DUE: MARCH 18TH
• There are 5 major party candidates still running for President. Hillary Clinton, Mike Huckabee, John McCain, Ron Paul, or Barack Obama. Pick a candidate to research.

• Go to one of the websites listed below and find out as much as you can about the candidate that you chose. Stay on the site, learn about the candidate and where they stand on important issues such as the war, economy, healthcare, environment, etc.

http://www.hillaryclinton.com/

http://www.mikehuckabee.com/

http://www.johnmccain.com/

http://www.ronpaul2008.com/

http://www.barackobama.com/

• After looking at the site give me a brief description of the candidate. For example, a mini biography about your candidates political career ONLY.

• Pick out three important issues to write about. Any three is that is of interest to you is fine. Explain the issue and the candidates view on that issue. Include what your candidate’s action plan is towards that issue. Then decide whether or not you agree with the candidate’s stance on that issue. Explain why or why not. Do that for all three issues.

• Paper should be either 750-1000 words or four pages max (750-1000 words is usually close to four pages)

• Paper should be proof-read, watch spelling!!!!!

• No bibliography is needed because I know where you are getting the information from. This does not mean you copy word for word, that is considered cheating. I will check the website to see if you copied word for word if I feel that may be a problem. Put the information in your own words. When you get to college or post high school education there are harsh penalties for plagiarism that result in failure for the course with no questions asked. Don’t let that be you.

• Papers must be typed, times new roman, 12 font, and double spaced. That is the only acceptable post high school font allowed in schools. You may include a title page with your name on it that is separate from the 750-1000 word essay. If you choose not to include a title page your name should appear in the upper left hand corner of the first page only.
